are choices from traditional to contemporary styles, no matter what type you choose it will be easy to find exactly what you are looking for in The Dressers & Chests Store by Home Gallery Stores. There are many types of dressers and chests, so you will be able to find one to suit whatever your needs may be.

Bombe chests originated in the 17th century but you don’t have to go with a traditional style to use this dresser. Bombe is characterized by the outward bulging sides and front near the base. A traditional style has shorter, usually ball legs but you can find contemporary styles that may have longer legs or come in a bright color.

A gentleman’s chest is a traditional style that typically has one large drawer at the bottom, a series of smaller drawers and a door with extra storage for shelves and hooks.

Lingerie chests were originally used for storing delicates but the tall, narrow shape makes a lingerie chest a great choice for people who want extra storage that isn’t going to take up all of their space. A lingerie chest is a popular option in nurseries as well, since it can hold of all your baby’s clothes and leaves room for a crib, glider, changing table, toys and other things.

Bachelor’s chests were a popular choice in the 17th century because the top was hinged and could fold out to be a writing desk, making it extremely useful. Today a bachelor’s chest is now just a small shallow dresser, typically with three to four drawers. Many people use this type as a bedside nightstand because it is the perfect height and gives a little extra storage room.

Media chests are built to have a TV stand on top and have an open shelf meant to hold electronic devices, such as a Blu-ray player or gaming console, with holes in order to string cables through. Many people will use a media chest in a bedroom with a smaller television and use a larger entertainment center for the living room.

Double dressers are the most common option for most bedrooms because they come in a variety of styles and have a neutral shape. A double dresser is long and horizontal with two columns of four drawers. This style of dresser is usually waist high and many people will hang a mirror overtop.
