We are an authorized dealer of Hekman Furniture. Hekman Furniture is known today as some of the most well-made and timeless casegoods on the market. The company’s origins can be traced back to 1893 when Edsko Hekman moved from the Netherlands to Grand Rapids, Michigan to become a furniture maker. This love of furniture making was passed on to Edsko’s three sons, who founded the Hekman Furniture Company in 1922. Hekman Furniture is best known for their home office furnishings. There is an extensive collection of desks and home office chairs to choose from for all styles from traditional executive home offices to more contemporary looks. Whether your style is country, modern, rustic, or traditional, you will find pieces to fit your needs. Beyond just desks and chairs for the home office, Hekman Furniture produces bookcases, buffets, coffee tables, dining room tables and chairs, end tables, and entertainment centers. In 1993, Hekman acquired Woodmark Furniture, a leader in the custom upholstery business. This meant two of the leaders in casegoods and upholstery, respectively, were brought together to offer customers the best of both worlds under one roof. Hekman Furniture Company is under the Howard Miller Total Home umbrella and each piece is constructed using the highest style and quality standards. Hekman Furniture has carefully considered all of the ‟extras“ to include with their desks, credenzas, files, and bookcases to ensure your satisfaction when using these items. In their desks, Hekman includes ball bearing glides on all drawers, full extension glides on file drawers for letter or legal size storage, drawer dividers, drop-down front in center drawers for keyboard, wire management and more. Credenzas also have ball bearing glides, full extension glides, and drop-down front, along with pull out work surfaces on the right and left, a power bar on left side, and others. The file cabinets have standard locks, an anti-tip mechanism, and full extension glides on file drawers. On bookcases, file drawers have ball bearing glides, there are two fixed shelves on all styles, curio lighting in some models, and wood framed glass shelves in some. Some of the specific collections Hekman is best known for are Castillian, which includes dining room, living room, and bedroom traditionally styled pieces and Old Walnut Burl which has home office casegoods in a rich, strong finish.
